Condoms - The Best ones on the shelf

As I stare at all the brands of condoms on the drugstore shelf - i am so confused - all are labeled "lubricated" "the number one condom" or whatever else thinger to catch the buyer's eye. Being new to the whole thing - i am wondering what is the best (from experience) out there. I just recently bought Durex with different flavored lubes on them. My bf bought the Durex "for her" condoms and they worked good, (As in they didn't break - but he said he couldn't feel much in them) I'm wondering which ones hold up better, feel more comfortable, mostly for men :)

Oh, and i don't know if this will matter - but we use condoms primarily for anal :p

In my experience, brand doesn't matter that much. I always bought Trojan (now I don't use condoms) just because it's such a known brand, I figure it has a bit of a higher standard, but I dunno if there's any bearing on that. All mainstream brands are tested and up to standard. At health centers I picked up complimentary condoms of mixed brands, and I never noticed any difference between brands. I don't think my bf did either. To make it feel better for the guy, put a little dab of lube inside the condom or on the tip of his penis before you put the condom on. And lubed condoms are a must - the unlubed ones are really dry and kinda floury, like the inside of a rubber glove. Not too pleasant in my experience. I'm usually pretty wet, but those dried me out and made things a little uncomfortable - especially for anal you need lubed condoms and lots of lube on the side! Anyway, good luck in your search!

umm....i herd if you use a condom for anal you shouldnt use ones that contain latex because they ware away more dont quote me on that it's just something i've herd but i think that will be something you will have to look into.

Latex is harsh and many people have allergies; therefore, look for those made of polyurethane. Lube? Spermicide? There is not enough of either to make any significant difference, use a separate lube/spermicide if that is something you look for. I am not into the condom thing (no need right now) nor have I used them for a long time (due to marriage and LTR). But I did see Brandye post that the Latex ones cause microscopic "cuts". Any thinner ones (other then latex or poly) are too thin and have increased porosity; allowing diseases to potentially pass.

Ribbed ones? Seems to be a waste of money, in my opinion. I do love to look on the walls at gas stations where they have titles such as "Rough riders"! Geez, appealing to the guys!

personally in my experience there are new trojans that are ultra ribbed and have a special formula of lubricant that last long and is pretty smooth. these drive my girl crazy.
