im planning on having sex soon and i have some condoms, but i've have them for a while. I heard from a few places that having condoms in a wallet for an extended period of time isnt good for the condom. The 2 condoms i have have been in my wallet for over 5 months. Is this myth true? and do i need to go get moe condoms, i want to be as safe w/ this as i can. Thank you for all your replies.

Heres the thing... condoms left in your wallet
A) if its in your back pocket like mine, your ass gets temperature hot being sat on all day, leather gets hot fast... if its leather... even if its not, its confined, and it can easily dry the lube out, which will dry the condom, massivly increasing the chance of breakage.
B) 5months in a wallet is very bad ( see A haha ) if it were in a drawer or something, that would be fine.

Yes, with condoms, fresher is definitely better. You don't want to expose them to excessive heat-like body heat in a wallet- for long periods of time. Don't keep them in your car either-same thing. A cool, dry place-like a drawer or closet- is fine. They should have "use by/expiration" dates-follow them.
Also, though you didn't ask, make sure you have a water-based lubricant-ky jelly, astroglide, etc. NO petroleum products- vaseline, hand lotion- it degrades the latex.

Yea, just to be safe, i would jsut go get some new ones, keep em in a drawer in your room, but always keep a condom with you.. don't get me wrong, but keeping them in a purse, is way better than a wallet... and yes that myth is true...
also there should be expire dates on the condom
