Test tampering?

Hi all, new to the forum as I need advice.

Basically I split with my girlfriend at the beginning of November and everything was normal until a month later when she started pestering me by saying she was pregnant. I obviously knew this was nonsense as we always used condoms and even then I never 'finished' inside. The last time we had sex was 6th November.

I got her to prove it by doing urine pregnancy tests (Clearblue Digital & First Response Early Result) on 3rd December which both came back negative and she was soon sent out the front door due to lying to me.

Anyway she tried the same stunt over the next month and I'm obviously getting really annoyed so manage to convince her again to do a pregnancy test (same brands) on 1st January and suprise suprise both say negative.

She is still sending me messages claiming to be pregnant and has claimed that apparently applying Germolene (didn't say where it was applied) will mess with the hormone levels which the tests pick up on due to being an antibacterial cream.

Now I'm no medical expert but I'm pretty convinced she's talking out of her behind but I'm not willing to put money on it just in the million to one chance its right.

Any medical experts out there who can lay the facts down concerning the timing of the tests and her apparent 'tampering' as I am sick and tired of being pestered.

The germolene is anti-septic and not anti-bacterial and certainly contains no hormones. Nothing contains hCg (the pregnancy hormone) and that is what home pregnancy tests check for. There is a hemorrhoid preparation made by the same company as germolene. That would possibly contaminate the urine test but should not keep the hCg from being detected.

She would now be past her first trimester of pregnancy and there would be enough homone in her urine to set the test ablaze. OK, not literally, but her urine would be very rich in hCg and it would register almost immediately. The tests are usually quite accurate after the first missed period. Her tummy should be beginning to swell (You do not check!!!) and the pregnancy would be immediately identifiable by palpation by any doctor.

Why not offer her a ride to Planned Parenthood or a woman's health clinic. If pregnant, you take her home; if not, she walks.

No swelling to stomach, she has a slight belly but nothing that she has never had already.

I was thinking the same regarding the timing as both test brands have a very high accuracy after missed period and she drank very little before the tests were performed and held it in for around 4 hours before a sample was taken.

Another thing that has me really confused is that she has never had fresh sperm anywhere near her (always used condoms, never finished 'inside' and used condoms are never left lying around), the only thing is precum but this has never actually been put in to contact with her. What are the actual facts with precum as I have read its initially sperm free but may pick some up on its way out if you have not urinated?

You are correct that Cowper's fluid contains no sperm. It is also correct that the male reproductive system, especially during arousal, will contain free swimming sperm. So, pure Cowper's fluid is sperm free but under a microscope sperm may show who joined the procession along the way. Any time a penis is in a vagina, no matter what precautions taken, pregnancy is possible. In your case, it does not seem likely.

What do you mean by free swimming sperm?

Use your imagination! You men are sperm machines and there are always a few curious ones who do not await the big call but go swimming off on their own.

Ok a further explanation as the silky woman is still at it.

What are the chances of two negative tests (both first response early result) and a totally flat stomach at 15 weeks?

Dummy (your screename not name calling here lol). Take her to the clinic. I actually applaud brandye for her advice. If she's pregnant drive her home. If she's not she walks.

The odds of 2 negative tests, one of them being 2 months later is INCREDIBLY LOW. Think about it. The test picks up pregnancy hormones. Your past your second missed period. Her body is producing enough hormones to destroy a small country of tests.

The tummy issue is not something I will answer (do not want to be shot since I do not know any "facts" on the matter) I will however state that in the pregnant women I have known (several friends got pregnant around 19. None of them seemed to "show" until the 5 month mark. But they were all very skinny before pregnancy. They also seemed to gain 60 to 70 lbs by 8 months and then would #he'd it all and be back to normal weight within just a few months.

For everyone's education: "skinny" women do tend to show earlier than normal or, especially, chubby women. Some women show at three months and some at seven. Highly individual to the body and prenatal care involved and the clothes she chooses to wear (or not wear). 60-70 pounds!!!!????? I would fire her as a patient. 20-30 is in the range for a healthy pregnancy.

There is approximately no chance of her being pregnant with two negative tests separated in time as you describe. Time to ignore all contact from her or, even, consider a restraining order.

Brandye. I'm curious, my mother gained over 40lbs and she was 99lbs when she learned she was pregnant with me. And the doctor said he was very pleased with her for gaining all that.

I know one of my friends was 88lbs and grew to 142 at the time of birth. Her baby was deemed healthy and she lost all the weight by the time her baby was 2 months old. She also was not showing until later into the 5th month. Her friends thought she was joking when she said she was eating for 2 since she was so tiny.

Are these just abnormal circumstances as far as weight gain is concerned?
