I've never heard of lubes being dangerous to use during pregnancy...
However, it's best to
never use any types of lubes or oils that are not specifically desiged for intercourse! Believe it or not, coconut oil is an excellent lubricant.
First of all, it does not cause infections. In fact, if you are prone to yeast infections, especially from using glycerin based lubricants, coconut oil is an excellent alternative since it creates a yeast-unfriendly environment. surprisingly over 90% of lubricants that are specifically designed for intercourse contain either sugar (glycerin) which encourage the growth of yeast and can result in urinary track infections or yeast infections. They also contain parabens which are widely used synthetic preservatives, but which can disrupt the hormone (endocrine) system.
So, so much for the '
safety' of lubricants designed specifically for intercourse.
