What is implantation Bleeding?

What is it? My gf got her "period" when she thought she was supposed to which was at the end of her birth control pack. She had small discharge of brown the first day, secound day there was lil blood, third day hardly any, and today she got more blood, she was wryd b/c it was so light and i was wryd b/c it sounded like implantation bleeding. She did have cramps and she said she "thinks" she on her period but not sure cuz it was so light the first couple days.

she is on pill, we use condom, pull out method and most of the time spermicide film.

Should i be wryd? should she?

Implant bleeding occurs when a fertilized egg implants itself in the uteriene lineing. It is usally bright red and is only spotting. It generally occurs in the middle of the month when ovulation occurs.

What you describe is some old blood, possibly hanging around from her last period and then a slow starting period. If she is relatively new to the pill, this is common. If she has been on for a year or so, this sometimes happens because her body has become slightly overdosed on the oestrogen.

Likely nothing to be concerned about.

ok good, today she said her tampon was normal looking and she has been on the pill for months now. thx

but i kept reading about it and ppl describe implantation bleeding to be brown or pink discharge.. she did have brown but maybe like u said it was old blood
