Question irregular periods...help!

hey guys- so i started my period when i was 12 and they have NEVER been regular. like ive been over a month late once when i wasnt even sexually active. Im 17 now and my boyfriend and i have been having sex for a couple months. We've always been safe. he doesnt even come near my vagina without a condom on. and even though we use condoms- he still pulls out and we always see the cum go into the condom. i was supposed to get my period around the 3rd or so of this month. i had brownish red discharge for a couple days and got a drop of blood on the 4th. then nothing. ive been PMSing like crazy and acting the way i always do b4 i get my period....i got a drop today... (16 days later). but now nothing.
I highly doubt im pregnant i just duno wtf is wrong with me. ive been pretty stressed lately so i thought that could be it but its weird that i just got a couple drops 16 days apart. im going to the gyno on wednesday for the 1st time to get bc im hoping it'll help regulate it. but i duno help!

I have a friend with really odd periods, up to a month late or it will sometimes skip a month and she's never pregnant. It could be from weight loss or gain, or stress as you mentioned. The birth control is a good idea since you are sexually active and it should regulate your period. I love knowing exactly what day I'm going to get my period. The only bad part was the time it took for my body to adjust to the pills. I had some spotting the first 2 months I started taking them, but the worst part was my boobs hurt for a good 3 months!! Now they only hurt the week before my period, so my body did finally adjust... your gyno will be your best source of info though, so talk to the dr.

If I had to make a guess...I would say it's an abnormal period and the time frame of 16 days later may be the time you are ovulating. Now conversely, a condom alone can leak without you knowing it and when it touch with vaginal fluids are enough to cause a pregnancy. However, I believe that would not really be the case due to your description. Since you have an appointment on Wed. you need to keep it since you are sexually active you should have had an exam done already, discuss birth control options for you as well. If you cannot stand the pressure--get a home pregnancy test and do it before you go.

The more you worry the more your cycle will go awry. Let us know how you make out. And realize worrying will not change the outcome but you are doing the right thing by getting to a doc! Next time you use BC and he uses a condom to be certain.
