I mean, I know that no matter what there's always a chance when you have sex, but its pretty much not going to happen right?!

There is no way for you to tell other than taking the MAP is your backup to attempt to prevent a unwanted pregnancy. There are many medical reasons why women are irregular in their cycle & being able to tell when she ovulates is impossible secondary to the irregularity of a set schedule. Younger women are notorious for irregular periods, stress over a situation, concern over "first time sex". Women tend to think the worse; somehow a magical pregnancy is pending they are not aware of; often called as "sweating it out" by Brandye. We have all been there. Birthcontrol or not we wonder.
As a NP; I would say
relax if she took the MAP pills and she is near her period. Worrying about it right now is not helping either of you since what is done is done...and you did correct an error.
As far as some other opinions here; I go with Doc...planning for the future and being certain you have done everything possible to prevent a pregnancy & STD prior to sex. Chastising you is not helpful since I think you have turned yourself upside down over the issue, learned your lesson, & I would say it's fair we all have made mistakes.
Here is the deal in short: You use condoms to keep yourself & partner free of STD's (and they also serve as your second form of birth control. The woman takes her share of responsibility by using either a spermicide or other form such as BCP's/IUD/Depo. etc. Please read around the site for info on this.
The point is not your not ready to have sex; the point is you already have & need to be prepared--both of you. She also should keep track of her period on a calendar.
For now relax, see what happens the next two days or so. If you have any questions ask. There is no magical way to give you a 100% answer but you did get the MAP. Be more careful next time; she cannot keep taking the MAP each time.
