Strange food cravings

I know it sounds cliched to talk about pregnant womens' odd eating habits, but what are some strange things that you've heard or experienced?

I had a coworker develop some interesting food desires after becoming pregnant like a need for jalepeno lollipops.

A friend asked me to pick up Doritos and peanut butter for her last week.

My sis had ketchup on vanilla ice cream... guess it would be alright... a balance of salt, sweet and sour?

Sounds more like a weed-inspired creation... Peanut butter and Doritos are damn good things, only a matter of time before a pothead thought of putting them together. I remember the excitement of making KD with beer.

I know my mother was into spicy things. Like she went out to a restaurant and got a blackened pepper steak (which was basically pure pepper chunks and stuffed with chili peppers) It was weird for her because she cannot stand spicy food.

I have seen women who are pregnant eat really strange things! Often it's something they hated prior to pregnancy & loved during, some changed back & other's did not. No so much strange mixtures rather then their taste changed. And they can pack the food in; some I swear are eating for 12! Their caloric intake for 9 months is about mine for a year and a half! Then 4-6 weeks post birth some look as if they never had a child; however, looked like a weeble while pregnant!

My cousins friend is 6 months pregnant, but she doesnt look like it. The only time I have seen her wearing something form fittting, and it look like she had a little ponch rather than a baby. (but then again she is only 18)

Much has to do with the persons physical appearance pre and during. Each carries different. My SIL is older...but is tiny, shapely, and petite. For the first 2 trimesters all was good...could not tell. Last 3 months of each? Due to weather, summer, etc. she wore full maternity clothes. I would see her and from a distance looked like a "weeble"...and I have to say she felt it too! I could tell one day she way ready to deliver...she looked like humpty-dumpty sitting on a wall....so uncomfortable with the heat...and she dropped significantly; just looking at her I knew she would deliver that night. And even with the first, her normal delivery from onset to birth is only about 2 hours mild cramps & nausea at 9 PM--at 11 was contracting screaming to go to the hospital [brother figured, being the first child, it was false until she kicked him to call the doc] and delivered in about an hour. She was careful and with each pregnancy returned faster to her regular body shape...Each happened so fast--I barely go into the delivery room....my brother cannot watch...he passes out.

FYI; I week prior I notice she cleans everything!!! Up until the day before....

A friend of my got pregnant last year. She started craving anything that was fruit. Bagels with peanut butter and cheese whiz. She threw up almost everytime she smelled any kind of grain being cooked (eg.rice). She also couldnt stand the smell of Root Beer...lol it was hilarious.

Now she can barely stand the sight of fruit. She has bagels with peanut butter OR cheese whiz. The grains cooking doesnt bother her at all but she still continues to detest the smell of Root Beer.
