breast play and pregnancy
I was just wondering, and this is probably a good question for Brandye, are there any potential risks with aggressive breast play during pregnancy. My wife is 4 months pregnant and really loves aggressive breast play more so now than ever. Is the release of oxytocin a concern? I did notice some mammary secretions the other night, like breast milk, in very small amounts, after lots of stimulation. This is our second child, but I don't remember her liking breast stimulation this much during the 1st pregnancy. Anyway just thought I'd ask. Thanks

Overall tenderness and discomfort is indicative of pregnancy and the bodies changes...so many stages yet to go. They might be a bit more sore the next day; however, it's pretty difficult to cause long term damage this early on...unless a duct becomes clogged and there is visible redness, swelling (more then expected), or pain...usually the discomfort can be relieved with compresses and a good support (pregnancy) bra...if there is a significant issue SHE will know since it's nearly unmistakable---severe pain and slight fevers...much has to do with the physical changes and her hormones! Enjoy it now! 4 months is still pretty early in a pregnancy since she is just entering her second trimester.

If it is pleasing to her, there should be no danger. Sera has given you all the salient facts - mainly that milk production does not start pre-partum. Colostrum is produced by some women especially during the third trimester. This is a thicker, yellow secretion that is a precursor to milk. Not all women produce this.
If you are not causing pain or not causing impact to the breast, do what she likes.
