Pregnancy & sex...any risks to fetus?
I know that normally, sex can continue during pregnancy until the fairly late stages.....
But, my wife miscarried at about 4 weeks the last time she got pregnant. Now she's pregnant again, but I'm concerned that sex might be dangerous to the fetus. Does anyone have any knowledge about such things? I'd hate for her to lose another baby. Thanks for any advice you might be able to share. |

Well, I am qualified to comment and this is not a topic for which you should be seeking an answer from strangers. Her gyn can establish the likelihood that the past miscariage was related to anything other than a "defective" foetus - the most common cause. Only one act in four during a woman's fertile time results in a live birth. Many of the others are unknown miscarriages.
She, and you, should discuss this with the gyn. Based upon past patients, you will likely have some deep-seated concern no matter what you are told. That is normal. Perhaps you two should brush up on your oral skills and, if allowed by the gyn, learn a position that would keep pressure off her tummy. I recommend that she lie on her back with her legs draped over you lying cross-wise on your side. That gives each of you complete access to all critical parts of either of you. If the gyn clears you for sex, this is the least risky position.

Yes, I agree with all the posts. Your OB/GYN is the best to ask about sex. I've been pregnant 3 times and had active sex throughout all pregnancies. Sex definitely was so good!!!!!!! I was hypersensitive and everything felt soooo out of this world, had awesome orgasms.
When your wife is further along, have sex on side laying position, best laying on her left side. Her blood flow increases a 100 fold during pregnancy and its pumped down fast and pumps up slow, so laying on this side helps with her blood circulation. When lying on her back, the weight of her growing belly weighs on a largest vein down on her lower back (Vena Cava), when weight is put on this vien then blood circulation slows down and it slows the fluids and nutrients going to the fetus. I enjoyed oral sex so much during pregnancy as well, as I was so sensitive and helped release everything. Pregnancy is soooo romantic...Enjoy!!! |
