 i hear that clitoral orgasms are the way to go. but whenever i try to rub, lick, etc. my girlfriends clit she just says it tickles. she shakes but says that she has never had an orgasm from this. do i need to try longer and maybe she will have a clit orgasm from this? or should i stop with it all together?

clitoral stimulation?

Keep trying, but there is a small chance she might be one of the small percent of us, who orgasms from their g-spot/internal orgasm instead of the clit.

Is your girlfriend capable of enjoying orgasms from masturbation? If not she must learn before you can help her to experience them. If yes, then the difficulty would seem to be a matter of technique.
It is not unusual for a person to be tickled while also being caressed. The abdomen particularly becomes ticklish when s/he is turned on. The fix for this is to use a tad bit more pressure. This may be something to try on her; however, the indirect approach may be better. Fold the inner lips over the clitoris and caress it through them.

My girlfriend hasn't masturbated herself. i have given her orgasms from fingering her vagina, just not her clit. what does that mean?
Are you absolutely certain she has experienced orgasms? You/we need clarification on this:
> she shakes but says that she has never had an orgasm from this. do i need to try longer and maybe she will have a clit orgasm from this? or should i stop with it all together?
Does this mean she has never had an orgasm, or, just not from stimulating the clitoris?
It is unusual for a girl/woman to just jump right in and begin having them at the hand of a lover without doing some exploration and training on her own, first. This is why the question was asked.
To stop or not to stop is the question: Take your cues for what to do from her reactions.
she says she has had orgasm when i finger her vagina. she gets tense and then shakes and moans. sometimes after she has to stop and just breathes for a few minutes and says "that is the best feeling i have ever had" pretty positive that that is an orgasm. when i rub her clit she lightly quivers and takes my hand off and says it tickles. a much different reaction then the one previously stated. i think she has just never had one from clitoral stimulation. and she told me she has never masturbated herself.
Fold the inner labia over the clitoris when she becomes ticklish and rub the clitoris indirectly through them. Also, you can stroke the shaft.
what do you mean stroke the shaft?

But definitely not impossible, my girlfriend has said she never masturbated in her life due to her upbringing. Me and her enjoy sexual adventures all the time, although, it did take she said 4-5 times at first of long passionate sex to give her a complete orgasm.

The clitoris is the female equivalent of the male penis, albeit in miniature and mostly buried. The shaft extends up between the folds of the upper vulva.

You two are very fortunate. A lot of women who have never masturbated in their life also have never enjoyed an orgasm until late in life yet having and enjoying sex all the while.
Never Too Late
Really? I guess I just have some technique then or something, i've been with a good decent amount of virgins before hand. I can't say how many masturbated or not before hand, but they all claimed they orgasmed, as did I feel a tensing of the vaginal muscles.
That's interesting though, I always believed with enough sexual practice a woman could easily find what she likes, as had my girl I am with now.
