Even though I'm a Canadian , I have watched a little bit of the election coverage in the U.S. recently. One name that I have looked into [due to the "buzz" over non-political issues of candidates] is Christine O'Donnell.
I enjoy watching Bill Maher's program Real Time which I get on HBO Canada. I don't enjoy talking politics b/c no matter what country your in, everyone gets taken advantage of by the gov't in power. Anyway, I find Bill Maher's humor spot on at times. He mentioned about Christine O'Donnell dabbling in witch craft and having a stance on masturbation. I thought I had to look into this...
I found this clip on youtube (if any of you haven't seen it yet.) It's a video of Ms. O'Donnell and her group she was/is part of that takes a stance on sexuality, particularly self-pleasure.

I find it hard (no pun intended) to believe that there are people that believe that this should be done. I'm not taking sides politically or with religion, but sexually. How she has said certain things, I believe are totally hypocritical. How can anyone go without self-pleasure at one time or another?
She said that it is immoral and is also an insult to your married partner if you self-please. Isn't that suppose to be healthy???
As I watched Barack Obama's speech this afternoon from the White House, I overheard the phrase "stimulate the economy." I had to laugh and think "what if O'Donnell had won her primary in Delaware, and had to deal with hearing the phrase 'stimulus package' or 'stimulate,' often."
She's probably a hypocrite and has had the pleasure by her own hand. None the less I just find it unhealthy for someone to say negative things about something that's totally healthy and normal.
This post is not to insight any negatives about religion or political views. It's here for the discussion of healthy sexuality and a good laugh. Personally, when I have children and they reach an age where it is appropriate to learn about masturbation, I will tell them do it as much as they want but remember there are limits to when and where it can be done. Also it is perfectly normal and nothing negative will happen.

Masturbation is perfectly healthy and good for you. Women who do not masturbate usually find achieving orgasm difficult as the linkages that permit orgasm are not hard-wired in the female and must be developed. So for women, masturbation could be said to be mandatory.

Such a shame to see these young girls being so deeply convinced of how being in touch with your body is a bad thing. And not only that, but the need to make others feel bad, press their mark on them. Especially that last sentence struck me:

I always tell my gf that I want her to please herself when she feels so. She says the same to me. It's another healthy-perk to any sex life. When it becomes compulsive, then that's when you have a problem. But done properly, it feels good.
