It's not a good thing to be doing...it's done medically for reasons and long-term your going to need to take stock up in Depends. You are at high risk for infection, trauma, and urosepsis.
And damned...next time I have to place a cath in a patient I will wonder; rather then the ouch if he meant ohhh.
Sera, is right on. This is a form of self mutilation and it will have long term consequences. See the thread on CBT - it is similar behaviour run amok.
I work with mentally handicapped individuals and one of them has to be cath'd 3x a day and I must say I feel sorry for him.. it does not look like fun! I had one when I had a kidney stone so they could put a scope through it and from my female point of view it was the worst experience of my life... Unless you know how to put on sterile gloves and get the fresh tubing out of the pack you are adding bacteria where it shouldnt be you for sure dont want to give yourself a staph infection because it could be deadly and also you may be injuring your prostate because you have to go around it when inserting the cath. All around.. bad idea.
And your point being?

Seems damn stupid to me.
I had one pulled out once while in the ICU...the only good thing about it was the fact that I was knocked the f*** out when they put it in.
Also, I know a guy that HAD to use one every time he had to pee. Had some blockage surgically removed and had to insert one every time...poor guy :(
I hope you understand that sooner or later you're going to injure yourself...
