I hear a lot of comments about how the first time sex hurts, is not pleasurable, etc. especially for women, but for men too. Well, my question is: Can first time sex be pleasurable to both partners or is it always so terrible?

Can the first time be nice?
for my first time he was on top and went it slow. It hurt really bad, but we kept doing that for 3 mins or so. So then I thought screw this, I went on top to brake and it hurt woarse than what expected, then once i could sit down all the way like a couple seconds afterwards it got really great! So my first time hurt at first then was great. (one tip don't do it doggy style first time, that one will go in to deep if it's your first time)
oberon siad the key word "SLOW" dont rush most important aspect is taking it easy.
Like everything in life, it can go either way. The most you can do is be as prepared as you can and take everything slowly. The more you know and feel comfortable dealing with up front, the less chance something will freak you out.

Well, it is nice to know that it can be nice the first time.
I suppose people still should not get their expectations up, though, as they may end up disappointed. Nonetheless, at least they need not be so completely scared of it. 
Yeh, it can. It's gonna be weird as hell though. For both th' guy an' th' gal. It's a helluva lot different from masturbating. Okay, the bleeding thing. It CAN happen. It can be alot, it can be a little, or it can be none at all. The pain. Girls SOMETIMES feel alot/a little of discomfort. But if they do it's still not the end of the world. It doesn't STAY painful. Just give it a few seconds and it won't be as bad and will feel good. Guys. No discomfort here. No way it could be unless you're in a bad position/angle. You just gotta know how to work your stuff if you're a guy. The first few times're gonna be hell though. Both male and female will have a helluva rough time gettin' off the first couple of go's. But usually the third time works out if the first and second times don't.
my first time didn't hurt
it was uncomfortable at first but felt better later.
i also didn't have to worry about my hymen b/c it was already gone from using tampons and masturbating w/ things...etc.
its different for everyone

it can be.
i know a few people (female) where it felt good their first time and others (female also) where it didn't hurt at all.
it just depends on the people.
it hurt my first time, but that's just me.
