Hi all,
This has never happened to me before, but last night, in the heat of the moment, my boyfriend not only called me by the wrong name, but he called me by my 18 year-old daughter's name. He claims that the reason why he made this mistake was because our names are similar...but... is that really possible ?? If we are making love or whatever (and he says he loves me more than anything) how could he possibly mutter my daughter's name???? I am having a real hard time with this...he apologized...I am still in shock...he claims he was not thinking about her, doesn't find her attractive..whatever...what do you think ??? :(

I, personally, would have difficulty dealing with whether my "mature" boyfriend was actually in me fantasizing about my daughter.
Similar names? Maybe, but .... Freud's theories may be generally discredited but he was right about many things.
I have heard of ex-wives names being uttered and ex-g/fs but this seems a bit much for me. Talk it out recognizing that it may be something you cannot get past.
I know youre probably freaking out, which you have the right to, but I one time called a b.f. by an ex's name. It was early in the relationship, but just out of habit I said the wrong name. Maybe this is what happened to you.
