Okay, so my boyfriend wanted me to shave down between my legs because he didn't like the hair. I shaved because i figured it wouldn't do anything bad, Well now i have razor bumps is there any easy way to make them go away?? I know its not like an std or anything, because there are no symptoms, and i've been tested so i know its none of that. ... I just want the bumps all gone... :p

Bumps from shaving....uh..

Well I realize it would be unpleasant if I got that irritation all the time, but I don't. And I prefer shaved for MYSELF, not just for him. To each their own.
Just use a good moisturizer on the vulva...nothing interior. Or you can talk to the doc and see if hydrocortisone cream or aveeno may work well on the external labia. Don't shave like you did. Clip back some hair or wax...there is a thread under women's health here on the subject...
yeah, the first few times i shaved i was red and itchy. don't use an electric razor, but stretch the skin and go slowly and don't go over any one area too many times. baby oil or lotion really helps the irritation, just dab some on after your shower!
hope this helps! baby oil really does the trick for me.
Let the hair grow back for several days until the bumps have calmed down. Then take a warm/hot bath. After at least 10 minutes of being in the water, you can shave with a SHARP razor. If you have very sensitive skin, just shave down. Otherwise you should be able to shave up in short strokes. Go in the direction opposite hair growth, meaning that where the hair growth slants, so should the razor. This is how I shave and I do not have irritation. The bath will help because the skin and hair get a chance to soften up in the water, plus sitting down you have more control than standing. After you get out, pat dry and apply a gentle moisturizer to the shaved area (I like Cetaphil). If you shave every day, you will usually have some irritation, but if you shave every other day or wait few days before shaving you get a closer shave and little to no redness/bumps. If you choose to let the hair grow back, be warned it will itch. Good luck!
From a guys side (and just to build on browneye) lather the hair with some cream (aloe enriched shaving gel cream or whatever) then slow steady strokes. Never go over the same area more than twice.. (I find once isnt enough and three times leaves burns) Aftewards, moisturize twice a day (at least) I find this really keeps bumps and burns (and ingrown hairs) at bay.
Another guy here, but I just use hot water and a razor. I have to shave to often to keep buying shaving cream, lol.
DUH! This is just one of the reasons why shaving 'down there' sucks big time! Another is when the short and curly hairs grow into your skin - that HURTS esp when they get infected. All of those red irritated bumps are just sooo attractive - NOT!
Look just trim to 3/8ths of an inch and get yourself a new boyfriend - it is a LOT easier!
You know, you don't always have to do what your males ask of you.
Razors cause pain. Even along the bikini line...sweat? And you get redness & bumps. Wax the line and trim the remainder. I will not put a razor on me ever again...legs, under arms, etc. Have it done by a professional not yourself. Just trim the rest.

Yes, Dear...I just had it done again today:o...no pain though!;)
Yes, I do get ingrown hairs if I shave - ALL of the time.
But the real issue is why must people, but mainly women, modify themselves? Considering the pressure to be this or that and for what? If being one way or another impacts your health, that's one thing. Never heard that fur has a negative health impact upon a person.

Don't shave, let it grow wild. You should always try to bring out your inner beast.
In that vid on youtube, there was a dud getting waxed....uh...yeah....
Well, Sera if you engage in 'outdoor activities' you're supposed to wear insect repellant! Ooooo, Eau du OFF! his favorite!!
Just think Thresher, here's a woman who doesn't flinch at pouring hot wax on herself, pressing a kind of paper into it, and then ripping her hair out by the roots, yet she's squeamish about spiders! While men, who kill spiders just because, run away screaming at getting waxed!
I don't mind the waxing pain, it's the baldness left behind that bothers me, lol. I never could understand why some bodybuilders go hairless.
Geez, EEK, I imagine you probably shave your legs - what's wrong (or any different) with a girl shaving her genitals? As a man, I certainly prefer it...
I've got hair on my head. That's enough for me... Body hair would not go well with my "look".
No, we aren't crazy. We know the joy of running our fingertips through his hair, ghosting lightly over the tips of his fur - enticing him - was e touched or wasn't he? You see? With smooth all you have is the flat planes of his body, with fur we have those same planes and MORE! Then there's the contrast between my silken hairless skin and his fur-adorned skin and the fact that in hot weater we won't stick to each other but can glide and slide. Mmmmm fur, baby, fur!!!
I don't like fur-less men either.
mm smooth is the way to go, you guys are crazy!
I don't like fur-less men either.
Ditto...something manly about it!
I've got more than most, kinda like a young Ron Jeremy, hehehe.

European women don't shave anything Oedi. And why should they?
I prefer men to have their natural fur. I prefer to NOT have ingrown hairs on my genitals.
I suggest that people stop making silly demands and focus upon what is truly important in a relationship - heart and mind.
The BEST thing a man can say is: Just show up!

After you shave, you need to start exfoliating every time you shower (which is hopefully every day). Don't do it right after as that will cause severe irritation, but the next day. I use St Ives Apricot Scrub. Just put about 2 teaspoons in your palm and scrub your love region. :)
This helps because it keeps your skin free from dead skin so you are much, MUCH less likely to get ingrown hair. You can also use a product (highly recommended) called TendSkin. It is a blue and gold bottle which you can purchase off Ebay or at most beauty salons. It helps keep your skin from getting irritated.
When I shaved, I had to apply fresh shaving gel each time, for each stroke (only go in the downward direction) and make sure you are using at least an almost brand new razor. I don't shave anymore, I depilitate with the Gold Carress from EmJoi and I used to wax before that. Waxing and depilitating is much less irritating and it never itches. Plus you only have to do it like once or twice a month.
I saw that wax vid someone posted. I can't imagine going that far for a smooth look... Though I did shave myself before and I do mean "there". It was a dare by a g/f and I had one of my idiot moments...
Nope! Not for me! If he's not man enough to relish my 3/8th of an inch trimmed fur, then he's not man enough for me. Y'all may select yourselves out, guys! *waving the 'smooth loving boys' else where.* Go and annoy some other woman, tyvm.
Sera - I think it's sort of a must for bottle-blondes like me to not have body hair. It just looks better. I've never heard any complaints...
Guess I'll stay away from European women then. People can shave or not shave whatever they want to, but I'm not really into girls with hairy legs. I like my women smooth...
Poor Oedi!
Why "poor oedi"? I'm happy - that's all that really matters.
Looking good while naked is also a plus, though...
Sorry Oedi but I'm only familar with looking magnificent when I'm naked.
OK then - that's what I meant to say...
If you can get a hold of some koochie cream, that stuff is awesome. Use that for shaving and that will eliminate 95% of your burns. The other 5% can be taken care of by following up the shave with some bikini zone.
I have also found that shaving creams work better than gels
