So, I have this itchy, red bump next to my bikini line that feels like a mosquito bite, and I just wanted to make sure it was something along those lines and not something to worry about. I've gotten it once before, and it went away on its own. Also, are there any suggestions to ease the itching? It's driving me crazy!

bug bite on bikini line?

Who can tell what it is over the 'net. Use any of the commercial anti-itch compounds - lanacaine or some such. If you have any possibility of herpes, have it checked.
well, it's definitely not herpes, I'm positive about that one...I'll definitely try some of that anti-itch stuff...once I leave work, anyway ^_^ Thank you!
I am not sure where you live... but I grew up in Alabama and we would get Chiggers http://science.howstuffworks.com/question488.htm
Usually if you have been outside in tall grass or whatever. They tend to burrow in tight places.. like the elastics of underwear... under bra straps... backs of the knees... etc.
Just google Chigger for more info... thats my guess lol.
Thanks for the suggestion...but I just looked at a bunch of pictures of chigger bites...and it doesn't look anything like them... :(
some of the pictures looked pretty gross lol
Mine were just red bumps like a mosquito bite... and sometimes if you look real close.. you can see a little red dot in the center.. thats the chigger
Had you been out in the woods or grassy areas?
That's what gets me: I haven't been outside much at all this summer. It's getting a little smaller, but it still itches like crazy. I guess the best way to describe it would be that it looks like a mosquito bite when you scratch at it and it gets all red and swollen...I've been using lanacane, like brandye suggested, but it doesn't last as long as it's supposed to...I have a feeling I may just have to wait it out again.:(
ingrown hair maybe?
I'm pretty sure that's what it is...it's almost gone now, too. I'm kind of prone to ingrown hairs, since I have pretty dry skin. It also means razor burn every time I shave...what a pain.
