I got waxed! It wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

Of course, it did hurt. My right side hurt more than the left. But my hair was also really long in that area (we're talking over an inch!) so the wax was getting tangled and THAT is what hurt worst. But, the pain went away pretty quickly and I was able to deal with it. My skin is really irritated right now, but it was my first time. It's nice and smooth though! Hehe.

Also, the salon I went to has laser hair removal (the credible kind, from a doctor's office) and apparently I'm a good candidate for it because I have very fair skin, but lots of dark thick hair. The only problem is, it costs quite a bit. So if I happen to have some spare money down the road, I'll go ahead and try it.

The lady that waxed me told me that the first time is the worst, but not all the hair grows back and it also comes back a little softer. That's definitely something to look forward to!

i started shaving when i was...i think 9 or so. i started growing hair really early and i didnt like it so i shaved. i had my friend (worked at a salon) do a bikini wax once. OUCH!!!!!!!!! it hurt like a bitch! plus, afterwards, i got red down there and it stung really really bad.
i am gonna stick to shaving. i use Mach3 razor as well, i use the kind without aloe tho. cuz im allergic to aloe...i learned that the hard way LOL.

Yea the Mach 3 is a men's razor. My dad and my brother used to get them in the mail as a free sample. So when me and my mom were cleaning we found all the handles and so we just went and bought blades. They last much longer than your disposable razor and help guard against knicks and cuts and even razor burn in my case as I always got it and now that I'm using the Mach 3, I don't get it anymore.

And as twstychik, the venus is the girl's version of the Mach 3. Someone told me the blades were interchangable as well.

I'm going tomorrow morning to get a 1/2 brazilian wax, woot! I'll be sure to tell everybody how I liked/hated it!

mach 3 is a razor.. I think gilette makes it. Also try shave secrets or coochy shave. Google em and order em. I swear by BOTH products.. Im particularly fond of shave secrets.

I have very thick black hair down ther eand on my head..american indian.. and this stuff works GREAT!!! Also I heard crushed regular asprin dissolved in water keeps razor burn down. Havent tried it yet though.

the mach 3 is a mens razor... I personally prefer the Venus which is the girl version of the mach 3. The venus has 3 blades, rubber strips to help lift the hairs & an aloe strip to soothe. I've never nicked myself with it... but I get razor burn from any shaving!

well the first time I went to have eyebrows done they were having a two for one ..so I said hey what the hell i get my eyebrows and bikini line done for the same price cool. can you say NOT!!!!LOL well lets just say the eyebrows were pretty painful as I have long coarse brows.. but the bikini wax OMGGGGGGGGGGG ...she puts the hot wax on the sides of my crotch (ok that was really hot) then takes these long strips of cloth and starts rubbing on them to get the wax to attach itself..now for the really bad party..worse than ripping a bandaid off the cut ..then she says ok.. and pulls as hard as she can..omggggggggg i had to make sure she left the skin and my lips cause I swear they came off with the cloth..ever since then I shave..there ain't nobody coming near my crotch again with hot wax...I had fat lips for about 2 days (litterally) soooooooooo hey if ya wanna give ur g.f a brazilian wax..odds are if she does it..she ain't gonna like u after...lol so errrrrr umm ya might want to rethink that one...
the only good thing was it took a month for my hair to grow back.. since im a blond (natural) yep have the matching rug.. ya can't see it much anyways

Ok, cool. I was also wondering, does the hair grow back slightly softer? I know that when you shave, you sort of "sharpen" the ends of the hairs, and it makes them feel rough... I used to get my upper lip waxed, and I was pleased to find out that the hair grew back just as soft and light as it was before. Does getting brazilian waxes tend to make the pubic hair come back softer at all?

Yes, I have extremely rough, coarse pubes hehe. They used to curl, but not anymore, since I started shaving. I let them grow out and they are now flat and wiry.

Well I have had brazillians and partial brazillians.. theyre right.. hurts pretty bad the first few times, but your skin toughens up. I started getting the partials so I could shave some areas in between waxes, and it worked out really well.

Waxing DOES make "razor burn" rashes at times.. and yes there is a wait before you w\can wax again.. so there will be some hair for a time while its getting long enough to wax again.

Now I save the brazil/partail brazil for special ocassions like vacations on the beach and etc.

hey for razor burn and stuff, i wonder if you "exfoliated" skin, or had alot of warm water on there. like in a tub... that alot of the time.. the dead skin can... well cause that too.

I was actually wondering about brazilian waxes... I wasn't sure if you could get them done in a salon, but I think you've answered my question.

I have been seriously thinking about doing it. I've bought a home wax kit and tried to do it myself, but I couldn't even get the wax applied... it was so sticky and difficult. The only area I want waxed is the "mound" and bikini area... I don't need the area close to my labia waxed. The reason is that the mound is where I get razor burn, cuts, and ingrown hairs, no matter how carefully I shave and care for the skin. I can shave the labia area easily, painlessly, and it doesn't get irritated.

So, hopefully it won't be too painful... I know it will hurt, but at least I won't have hair there for a few weeks, right?

When I do decide to get it done, I'll be sure to update everyone on how it went... it might be a while.

Well as much as I loved getting my eyebrows waxed I think I'll just stick with using my razor for any bodily hair.

I have a very high pain threshhold... but that is one pain I don't want to experience. Besides I find there are more possibilities for fun using other means...

I've had my legs waxed (for charity) and my "bikiini line" done when drunk by a trainee beautician, lol.

its so true owwww!!! i waxed my legs.. and had a bikini wax.. and my god... but still by that time i was numb all down my legs.. felt lke burning.. because it is HOT wax.. laughs.. yeah go for like facials.. or something tahts a pretty big jump.. unless she has had them andwants those.

Never done it, but the word "ow" comes to mind. I won't even wax my legs for that very reason. I'm not willing to go through that much pain when I can just shave the durn stuff off. Sure, it takes more to maintain it when you shave, but I'll do that any day over someone putting wax on me and ripping out my hairs.

Yeah, that shit hurts like hell. You can try to bring it up, just make sure to do it from a distance so you can dodge any flying objects that are thrown at you.
While I'm sure it feels and looks nice, it really does hurt. Although...you neevr know, she mgiht go for it. Just be careful how you bring it up.

I know that this isnt exactly the response you were asking for but my compulsion to speak my mind is rearing its ugly head. I know that your just trying to gather info about it right now, but you should consider whether or not your girlfreind has ever done any waxing (bikini, or otherwise) before, does she shave or trim? If she doesn't usually go bare down there, there could be a reason why. Getting a brazilian means going pretty sparse and MANY women just do not like the look or feel of that. Before you approach your girlfreind about it ask yourself if it's something she'd be open to. Waxing is, by nature, pretty painful. I will admitt I've never done it, and frankly, no strange woman with a bowl of hot (and it is hot)liquid wax is getting anywhere near my crotch; vanity simply isnt worth it, but many women who've done it swear by it, despite the pain. Then again, many others hated it and would never do it again.

I'm sorry for the mini-tyrade, like I said; stating my opinion is an uncontrollable compulsion of mine. Hope this gave you somthing to think about (and didnt offend)

BUt if you really want to get rid of that unwanted hairs of yours. THen go for it...
