NO! the pill does NOT protect you from STD (or SIDS whatever they are called now) and it's not a 100% so condoms are like a good back up (still not 100% with both but it is highly effective), trust me they are a hassle but well worth it!

If 100 women, sexually active, take the pill exactly as prescribed for a year, three will become pregnant. Add properly used condoms and the pregnancies are almow non-measurable.

The pumber one cause of failure of the pill is erratic taking of the pill; the second largest cause is taking anti-biotics at the same time.
