How is the special heat/cooling lube activated? it it through friction, when it comes in contact with certain body fluids, when reaching a certain temperature, or what?

Fire and nice, his and hers, etc are all just a new trend in lube/condom combination marketing. They are the same warm or tingling lubes advertised before, but with new names and mixed onto things together. They use different concentrations of menthol to achieve their effect. Menthol is the same active ingredient in muscle balms such as icy hot, tiger balm, ben gay, etc, and depending upon the person can feel pleasurable or very painful with a bad allergic reaction.

I'm one of those people who can't use these condoms. They "burn" me and each thrust is incredibly painful. Now I stick with regular lubed condoms, ones that don't contain Menthol.

so are u saying that the condom lube is just always producing that ice/hot feeling? even when its sitting in the wrapper?

Again, the active ingredient is menthol, which reacts with the nerves in your skin. It is not physically raising or lowering the temperature, and mixing them together is simply changing the concentration of it. If you read the package it will show the active ingredient and also states warming and tingling sensations.
