HIV Testing

Hey guys. Sorry if there is a thread already up but I have a question. Perhaps I am being paranoid but I want to get an HIV test. I feel kinda funny because I was talking to my best friend about how my fwb is constantly has pretty rough times of sickness. Currently a sore throat. Swollen lymph nodes. Body aches. Stomach discomfort. Headache and dizzyness. Well my friend joked and said maybe she has hiv/aids. Now I just kinda laughed and said ya right.

Well it just got me thinkin and it sorta snowballed and now I'm paranoid. I mean I looked it up but not much came up on it. So I'm kinda in the dark.

Anyways. I do not have money to pay for a test and I really don't want anything to come up on my insurance (its through my dads work and my mom handles everything. The last thing I want is my mom finding out about me getting tested. Her brother had aids and with her currently in phsycio for sugrery id rather not worry her.

Planned parenthood says I may be able to qualify for reduced fee or a state funded test if I don't have insurance (and based on my house income.) For anyone who knows can I claim I have no insurance and that I have 0 income? Or do I have to tell them I have insurance (and claim my parents income)?

I mean I wouldn't imagine I have it but I am just really stressed with life so everything paranoies me

Brandye is a jewel in the rough
I have no idea how you yanks pay for medical services and cannot comment on that part. All over Europe are testing centers that are anonymous, free and part of the public health system. Certainly there are similar in the States.

Ducy, telephone the OC Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesday.

Ask them if they provide free testing or on an ability to pay basis--or, know if such a lab exists.

Also, pose the question to your college health office.

Okay - yes, you can say that you don't have any health insurance but you can also find a Free Clinic and get tested there.

Be advised that it can take up to 30 days for the test results to come back.

Plus: WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING CONDOMS?
I mean, seriously - condoms = problem solved.
