Hey Everybody,
Me and my girl are head over heels for eachother and we've been together for a few months now. I'm 20 she's 19. I've been having this problem with Durex extra sensitive and avanti bare condoms and wanted to know if it was my doing or not. I'm not new to sex but on 3 different occasions these have broken on me and caused us to go to plan B twice already :\ I love this girl and I know she's the one but a kid is not in our near future. I might have put the condom all the way down (improper?) in a time of haste or it may have gotten dry (prolonged session) I know w the avanti bare you can't use a lubricant and wanted to know a solution to that because they feel too good to stop using. I'd really like the help J_ice Last edited by j_ice90; 01-29-2011 at 02:22 AM.. |

#1) make sure that the condom hasn't expired #2) sometimes condoms do dry out over long periods of time, especially if the female isn't producing as much natural lubrication #3) change brands or use a thicker one #4) make sure you are putting it on right, leaving an air gap in the tip (reservoir), and making sure you don't puncture the condom

The moral of the story is to wear them properly. Pinch the tip to get rid of the excess air and to leave a spot for the ejaculate. Air in the condom can cause irritation and tearing as well. (I experienced a pop sound and the tip had broken. Made sure to remove the air and it never happened again) water based lubricant is perfect. You have to make sure it is water based or the condom will lose elasticity. Also make sure they fit properly

Then your going to also need to try a larger size condom or try a different brand.
Or check your girlfriend for an evil spirit that keeps riping the condom in hopes of getting her egoo preggoo

Please - listen up
get the right size condom stop using those thin condoms you lube the head and only the head of your penis before putting on the condom you then lube the outside of the condom prior to actual intercourse if in doubt as to your size and your options please consult Condomania Last edited by EvilEvilKitten; 02-23-2011 at 06:47 PM.. |

Avanti Bare and Lifestyles Skyn are both polyisoprene and as pointed out previously should be compatible with almost all non-oil based lubrications. I'll have to check later but if my memory serves me well I believe that the polyisoprene condoms stand up against breaking just as well as standard thickness latex condom. If you aren't leaving enough room at the tip and do not have enough lubrication, they will eventually break.
Other considerations: Store the condoms in the recommended conditons. If you're girth is enough to need to stretch it some to get it on, be absolutely sure that you're fingernails aren't digging in. When taking it out of the package, be sure to not drag the condom across the sharp foil sides of the package. You can check the condom websites to see if your girth requires a wider condom. Larger condoms such as Magnum, Magnum XL, King, etc are probably bought as often for girth as they are length. There actually is a pretty negligible difference in length between Magnum and Magnum XL - the size increase between them is for girth. If you have a latex sensitivity, there are currently no male condoms for larger girth that are non-latex. If you continue to have problems, you can try the newly designed female condom. These are non-latex(nitrile). It can be quite difficult to find locally as most pharmacies stock regionally and don't carry them, but you can purchase them online. |
