Birth Control and Period

My boyfriend recently decided that he wants to have sex while I'm on my period. I'm okay with this, but I'm curious about my birth control. I take it religiously every day, but was curious if I could still get pregnant during the last week of the pack (during my period). This might be an obvious question, but I want to be absolutely sure to protect myself.

I am in my first month of this new bcp, so that might factor as well.

So, if I take my pill religiously, can I still get pregnant during my low-dose week?

Thank you for all serious answers. I know it may sound naïve, but it's just something I want to be sure about.

I would also like to add that we are in a stable, monogamous relationship. I know many people advocate lots of birth control methods. Our difficulty in condoms is that they irritate my skin to the point of discomfort. My doc is reluctant give me an IUD also. So I believe I'm being farely safe by using the bcp perfectly.

Yeah, I do. I find myself extra-sensitive during it, so I think that it'll be a lot more intense. I'm comfortable with expressing what I want, so I don't think it'll be overwhelming either. I read the tips for it before and I always thought it would be interesting to try.
