Question What would be the best birth control pill for me?

Hi everyone. Tomorrow I have a gynecologist's appointment to get my depo provera shot again. However, I am going to tell my gynecologist tomorrow that I want to be on the pill instead. But I am just wondering, what pill should I request?

I am a smoker, I want a pill that I can take within a couple hours of the same time each day without worrying about it working right or whatever. What I mean is that I need a pill that I can take within a few hours of the same time each day and it still work right. I don't want a pill that I have to take at the exact same time each day because I would forget. Also, I am wanting a combination pill and also a pill that would make my acne be not so bad. What do you suggest?

Brandye is a jewel in the rough
I suggest that you allow the doctor some latitude in matching the pill to basic body type and other metrics of your bodies function. There may be pressing reasons to use something other than a combination pill. When you start adding acne or iron or other medication, you are severely limiting the drugs available. This also puts you into the "latest stuff" with the added expense of not using a generic.

As for your attitude on time of taking the pill, you sound like a candidate for a slip-up. All pills have a some slight latitude. Consider that it is likely about six hours. If you are three hours early one day and three hours late the next, you are at the limits and at risk. The attitude to be developed is that you will take the pill as scheduled and then do something (alarm in cell phone; changing of TV shows; whatever) to damned well take it!

Thanks for the advice Brandye. Anyway, after some talking with my boyfriend, I chose to stay on the shot.
