Thin condoms & failure

Are the thinner condoms more prone to failure (ripping) than the normal/regular condoms?

No statistically significant difference in failure has ever been noted. The only public studies I am aware of of tearing condoms were conducted in some U.S brothels (wherever prostitution is legal) that showed those women who specialized in "rough sex" had much higher rates of tearing. Many of them required their customers to use two condoms.

With adequate lube and normal sex, you should have no problems. Do use the polyurethane.

I've used both Trojan ultra thins and Durex Love and I've never had one break EVER! But that's also due to using lube with them. As long as there lubed up adequately, then they should not break.

A responsible prostitute will protect herself and her client. Those who specialize in rough sex have many more tricks than simple vaginal sex and the johns who want that will tolerate the additional protection.

Counterproductive? To what?

I think what Vanella is trying to ask is isn't using 2 condoms at once counterproductive. I once thought that you could use 2 condoms at once to be more safe. Doing that just heightens the risk for breakage. As I said just use lots of lube and thin condoms won't break
