What could it be, besides Herpes?
Hello, I have been a lurker here for a good long time now, but only recently have I decided to register. I decided to because i have a question, and I know there are many knowledgable people here to help out.
so here goes. I have been married to my wife for 1.5 years now, and we lived together for 4 years before that. We have a 2 year old daughter. last week after sex she started getting a little sore, then it got worse, now it is at the point where her entire vagina is swollen greatly. she had white spots all over the inside and out of her labia, as well as pimple like blisters along her thigh. there is/was a white mucus covering most of the inner labia. she went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with a unirary tract infection, bacterial vaginosis. and not diagnosed but was told the bumps looked like herpes so he prescribed medication for that as well. the next day she had a doctors appointment, this doctor also said it looked like herpes, but took a swab to send off to the lab. and says he will not diagnose it until he is sure. the bumps are healing nicely now, but the swelling is still severe, she can barely walk. so any idea what this could be besides herpes? could it possibly be a severe bacterial infection that caused blisters outside the vagina? a little background.. I have never had any symptoms of herpes, neither has she, if it is herpes it has been dormant for the past 10 years at least. She is a diabetic. We had sex a few nights before this occured, including anal. Possibly a contamination from that as well. we are just trying to figure out what else it could be, neither of us believe it to be herpes, and that is alot of stuff to get all at once! thanks! |
