Contraceptives
Okay so I was just wondering if someone here could help me out.
I used to be on the shot but I've been off for a while now. I'm looking for a pill form of BC but I'm not sure what is good and what isn't. I'm definitely not interested in the seasonal pills. This website seems good http://www.arhp.org/crc/oral-contraceptives.html but do y'all have an recommendations or personal favorites? |

I wish there was a Condom FAQs section but I guess this thread will have to do.
I would like to ask advice to the guys (and girls since I think condoms do effect their pleasure as well?) about what condoms they recommend and if there really is a difference between the brands. I'm only talking about the normal (or ultra thin) latex condoms, not the organic or animal kinds. Is there one brand that outperforms the rest as far as reliability or are they all the same? Is there one brand that outperforms the rest as far as providing the most sensitivity and feeling? In my extremely limited sexual experiences, I've only used Trojan because that is what my friends recommended and they only trust Trojan but I'm curious if the other brands such as Durex offer the same reliability but better feel and sensitivity? Thanks |

Their reliability is the same across major brands because of government regulation. The latex and synthetics are equivalently effective. Always use vaginal spermicide with condoms and the rest is personal preference.

Ok my question has probably been answered here already, but here goes.I'm 44 turning 45 later this year.I started going through menopause late last year.I have met a wonderful man who i have recently started dating. We haven't had full sex yet,but have made out and fooled around. He doesn't want kids and i'm not on any form of birth control.Any suggestions on what would be good for me to go on.I intend to see my doctor very shortly but i haven't been on birth control for years and don't know what's available these days.

On the cusp of menopause, hormonal birth control is not the answer unless you are expecting to use hormone replacement therapy following menopause. The IUD is long term and may not be worth it for the few years that you still require birth control. If you are considering HRT, ask your doctor about the pill. Otherwise, get a diaphragm and you and he share the responsibility with condoms and the diaphragm.
Talk to you doctor or visit a women's health clinic and, with medical history and an exam, you may get better advice.
