hey! i'm sure this topic has been posted about twenty times, but looking through every single thread takes forever and search didn't help =)
just wondered if masturbation with a shower head jet spray (not a terribly hard jet spray, actually) would help lead to a yeast infection. i know about the air embollium already but i've been careful to avoid that. it's not something unusual for me to do, though i do have a vibrator. i just prefer the jet spray. i only reach climax from outside stimulation anyway so vibrators get kind of bulky. but it seems like a few hours after using the jet spray, i had the infection. it's getting better with the help of monistat so i'm pretty sure it actually is a yeast infection. but the time frame makes me think the two were related. any thoughts or ideas? thanks guys =) |

after being on this forum for so many years, at this point i know i get a quicker and more personalized answer by just asking on a thread than going through all the other old posts.
thank you for your reply =) |

But, Courtney, those of us here the longest and most get tired of addressing the same old stuff. This question does have a different twist: the shower head.
Shower heads are great for the purpose you have discovered! Done to excess, they can have the same effect as douching. That is they upset the eco balance of the vagina by washing out bacteria. The bacteria like yeast - for lunch - and if your are washing them away, that gives the yeast a great place to play. If you are using a spray head and getting yeast infections, stop for a while and see if that solves the problem. If you keep getting them anyway, something else is the cause. There is no other way to determine this and I would give the same answer to a patient. I never had that problem.
