Expired Contraceptive pills

My partner has been taking some pills orally, they are Levonorgestrel and we had sex a couple time when within those few(6) times i ejaculated inside of her, the preblem is that the pills are 2 years old, i have asked the Seller of these pills(Plan B) and they Had no idea what the outcome could be when the pills are Expirered.

My partner is worried that she will be pregnant and im in a tough situation right now.

If it was 2 years Expired should'nt the pills still have the same affect chemically?

(remember its Oral pills, Levonorgestrel)

Plan B contains .73 mg of Levonorgesterol. This is not a regular contraceptive pill; it is a morning after pill - emergency contraception. I would doubt that she would be taking these regularly and, if she is, she has her system all messed up.

The pharma standard is that any oral medications expire within a year. Some medications do begin to lose effect within that time frame and some do not. If they are kept in a medicine cabinet in a normally moist bathroom, they are more likely to have lost effectiveness than if they were, for example, in a cool, dry environment.

The problem here is not the possibly expired pills; it is taking the wrong medication. Plan B is simply not intended as a daily medication. It is emergency contraception. Either she is confused or you are and you will get a better answer if you ask an accurate question.

She is in a tougher situation than you right now because, either way, her system is messed up - either with pregnancy or an overdose of synthetic progesterone.

Yeah, I agree with Brandye, she knows her stuff, your gf's system cannot be doing well at the moment...your method of using Plan B every time you ejaculate inside of her does not constitute an "emergency" as this particular medication is intended to be used for. Get her to the doctor to get checked out first off, then get her on a regular birth control pill and/or (preferably and) start using a condom.

Taking expired medication wont hurt you really other than it just wont be effective..and is that something you really want to mess around with when it comes to trying to avoid pregnancy? You two aren't doing yourselves much of a favor here.. you might as well play a game of russian roulette, your penis being the loaded gun..

You still do not know what you are talking about. Or your partner is confused. Or something.

Yaz is a combination pill that contains both estrogen and progestin (both synthetic). No woman should be taking "yaz and estrogen." That would be an overdose of estrogen (mild, but real) and would defeat the purpose of using a combination pill.

How you, she or the doctor could confuse Levon with Yaz is beyond me. They are about as different as hormone pills can be. Do a goolge search on yaz and read all about it. Women should really understand what they are putting into their bodies.

Yes, there are big risks with abortion. Why are you even asking about that?

Going through Sexual Health: Women you will find a bit of education on contraception. You can also get all the pamphlets that Planned Parenthood and your NHS makes available. She should eb interested in this stuff as well.

Two year old pills properly stored should not have lost much potency. If they have been in a steamy medicine cabinet, maybe they did lose strength. The guidline is that no prescription should be used after a year drom your receiving it.

If she is playing games, move on. You do not need this crap in your life. You are seeking information that she should already have if her doctor is competent. If she is careless, that is another story and that is her issue.

Make certain she is not pregnant - test, exam, period arrives - and then bid her goodbye.
