Contraceptive Film and Oral Sex

This may seem odd but I was wondering if you could have the vcf in and still have oral sex, or at least some. I haven't used it yet, but was thinking of getting it as a third method (paranoia). It isn't suppose to be messy and when i read on spermicides in general they talk about bad taste but I can't find anything on vcf specifically.

Yes, you can...the reason why VCF was the choice for me v. a jelly or foam.

The active ingredient in VCF is Nonoxynol-9, the most common spernicide used for the last fifty years or so. It is a detergent and is quite effective. The taste will be the same as for any Non-9 product but the administration puts a lower volume of inert ingredients in your vagina. Men report the taste and numbing of the lips as effects of Non-9.

Foam, film and jelly all become active as soon as inserted. The film takes very little time to dissolve. Some women have difficulty placing it because of this. The point, however, is that you can keep an applicator or the film immediately available and insert during or after play and just before you take the penis in. The wonders of oral are enjoyed fully and you get the protection there in time.

I used to keep a filled applicator of jelly on the bedside table and train my partners in putting it in me as I rolled the condom onto him.

I should have clarified...I found the VCF to be less "leaky" v. other spermicides. The sponge; creates it's own foam when moistened and looks like you have a bubble bath happening. The VCF can be difficult to place.

However, once you have started intercourse, there is no way around the bad taste.

Ok, so pretty much do the oral first. The insert said it takes 15 min to take effect but we could fool around a little more and thankfully he lasts longer than that

The fifteen minutes is a conservative length of time. As soon as it is no longer film, it is active.
