This past month I failed to take my BCPs as regularly as I should have. I was off by 2-4 hours several times each week, but I never actually missed a pill. This weekend my boyfriend and I didn't use a condom one time. The very next morning I took EC.
I have heard that EC can disrupt one's cycle. Is this normal or an exception? If I took EC 2-3 days before my period was due, does anyone with a medical background have any idea how much might it throw off the day that I get my period? Also, if I have not gotten my period by the end of the week of placebos, should I continue with the next pack of BCPs anyway? I expect that I would also take a pregnancy test around this time just in case. |

Using the usualy emergency contraception doubles to quadruples the hormones delivered by the borth control pill. This can disrupt things. That close, you will probably get your period on schedule plus or minus a day. Time your next pack of pills from the start of your next period.
