spermicidal condom

Well I thought using the Trojan Lubricated Condom with spermicide was a good idea to increase protection. I read into it and found out that research has proven the effectiveness of this condom is NO DIFFERENT than a regular condom. Also read, spermicide used seperate from the condom, as in buying them seperately, DO increase effectiveness.

What do you all think of this? Should I just start buying the spermicide seperate from the condom?

I use the Trojan spermicidal condoms as well, thought they made it safer. I think I might start buying the spermicidal separately. I have a bunch of the spermicidal condoms left so I am not going to stop using them but I might uses the separate stuff as well. I am completely paranoid about getting a girl pregnant.

Haha my boyfriend is just as paroniod, once half way through the act he started panicing (even though we were perfectly safe, condom and pill) but we had to stop becuase it ruined the moment. I look back and laugh now though.

Yes, it is recommended to make separate purchases. Buy regular condoms and then apply a few drops of spermicide inside the tip. This will get the little critters as they appear.

I do not have any numbers or percentages. Placing a dab of spermicide in the time vs. not using any means of course that some/most/all will die which is good should the condom break or slip off or....

To be effective, there needs to be 125-150 grams of vaginal spermicide in the vagina. Using normal doses of jelly, foam, tablets, suppositories, film, sponge or the applicators that come with these, will put the proper dose inside. Vaginal jelly is at 150 gm and is the highest. The other commercial products deliver enough.

Spermicidal condoms are more lubricant than contraception. Doc's idea for a little inside the condom is good but the spermicide really needs to be in that vagina. The female body is the one that gets pregnant and needs to have the last line of defense.

Using condoms plus the vaginal spermicide gives protection approaching the effectiveness of the pill.
