If you go on the pill yes you need a gyn check up, if you have had sex, you should have a gyn check up.
To get plan B, it's in the pharmacy. If under 18 you need a RX, it's only used for emergency contraception if there was a birth control error..it's not for birth control.

When I first started...my doc have me a script for a 3mth supply and just did told me a little about how it works and answered any of my questions...then I went back 3 months later for my actual pelvic exam....and get one every year there after when I go to get a check up and a new script.
and Yes the BC pill and morning after pill are similar in ingredients but used for different things.

Any woman who is sexually active should have had a gyn exam. Many issues that show up here would have been prevented by that simple step.
This is as good a reason to get a checkup. I do not prescribe without an internal. The morning after pill is chemically the same as birth control pills but the dosage is greatly altered. It is not for frequent or regular use. The prescription status of both regular contraceptive pills and the morning after pill vary by country and, I suspect, state or province in some countries.
