it has been proved clinically that HIV can be transmitted through blood (contact with infected blood to the body openings like genitals etc).. but NOT through saliva!..
I do not have an answer to your question about STDs without sex.. |

STDs/STIs
Back before donated blood was screened, that is how a lot of people were infected w/ HIV and Hep C. If you and your g/f have NEVER touched anyone sexual whether it's oral or regular sex.. never had transfusions..etc.... then no you won't get get an STD.

In the strictest sense to eliminate the risk of transmission is avoiding any contact w/body fluids or blood products. Saliva can spread some infections, be certain both are clear from STD's then use a condom.
Some individuals can have a STD from birth without having sex. The majority of the population will not.

Thanks for the smart-ass answer. I already said I knew it seemed like a foolish question.
Thank you, sera and demon for answering without being a smart-ass. Since the 'generated' STD given at birth is a low percentage, I feel better. =)

The only way I could see you getting an STD from everyday activities would possibly be by using a public toilet. But I'm just totally guessing on that one, I'm probably wrong. I'd still try to avoid them for various other reasons though...
