Birth Control - Alternatives?

Hello, my gf and I have been together for about 4 years and have been sexually active for three of those. We have always used condoms and she has been on the pill since we started dating. Recently we've taken a step forward and are now "engaged to be engaged." We want to feel closer to eachother while being intimate. My question is, are there any alternatives that are as safe as that combination? She will remain on the pill. We were tossing around ideas like diaphragms, etc. Before we make any changes we're both going to get tested for STD's, although, I don't think either of us have anything and if we did, I think with the amount of other stuff we do, I'd think we'd both have it. Thanks!!

For the least intrusive? Stay on the pill and use a spermicide, such as VCF or the sponge.

She's pretty well set on having a barrier contraceptive involved. But we're just wondering about advice on any other kind of those that are not condoms.

I'd also say use spermicide. If she's takign the pill properly, then there is really no need for condoms.

Very few women in stable relationships use any protection in addition to hormonal, such as the pill. Three of every 100 women on the pill will become pregnant in a year. Adding eith a condom or the vaginal spermicide will reduce this to about one in 2000. If everything used regularly (always) and properly.

Pick you risk level and go with that.
