I was wondering how soon can you start having symptoms of pregnancy? I just ovulated a week and a half ago (me and my husband are tryn for a little one). My chest hurts so bad when you touch them. I took a pregnancy test and it said I was not pregnant, I don't know why. Can anyone help me figure out why???????.

The best is to do a test, one person’s body is different from another’s, my wife experienced different symptoms with each of the three children we have
Best is to go and have a blood test done at about three weeks after the deed has been done to be 100% sure (It is even reported that sometimes the male gets the symptoms of pregnancy for his wife lucky that did not happen to me)

It is quite early to have symptoms. I assume you really want to be pregnant. Sometimes women suffer a "false pregnancy" in having symptoms when they are actually not pregnant. This can last for a few months specially in women who are really trying to become pregnant.

KLN:
I noticed you edited you original post. There are times the HCG is not picked up resulting in a false negative. And as Brandye stated you can have symptoms when there is what is called a "Pseudo preg". As she said you want to be so badly your body experiences symptoms although they are false. Or it can be PMS.

I found this on a website and i thought that it was good info. since you think it is all in my head.

The link you provided does not work. I do not need to read "ask heidi" to diagnose a pregnancy and definately Brandye does not need to either. As suggested, see a doctor. Brandye explained why you may have tender breasts, it's a valid answer from a doctor. I also told you, you can have a false negative result. Then after your last reply I, as a NP, told you to go and see a doctor. Many women suffer from breast tenderness prior to the onset of their period. Whatever is in your head is being insinuated by you alone. Instead of reading the web, if you are wondering if you are pregnant, as I said see a doctor, on-line consults to diagnose a pregnancy are not our thing and you need to be followed by a physician and have a physical exam.
