My husband and I want to have another kid. I am on birth control and was wondering how long it usually takes after I have stopped taking the pill to become pregnant? ![]() |

The pills that are out now..are low dose and therefore very time sensitive.
That is why you take it the same time every day.. to maintain hormone levels. If you miss a pill and your hormones drop to a certain lvl for too long.. you could ovulate an egg during that time. The pill works in 3 main ways... 1. it stops ovulation 2. thins the lining of the uterus 3. thickens the mucus plug over the cervix, making it harder for sperm to get by. Try here

I did read it after this. I never meant to imply that I'm not practicing safe sex. I've always got a fallback, I just was under the impression that that's what it was supposed to do.
