Trouble climaxing

Well, I'm 20 years old, and I just lost my virginity last weekend. Everything went fine, but I never climaxed. I blame this on the fact that I'd had a substantial amount of alcohol that night, so I was probably a bit desensitized. Last night however, I had the same problem. I kind of came close, both with oral and intercourse, but never was able to get pushed over the line and climax. Any suggestions? Is it b/c it's all still new to me and I may have been nervous? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

p.s. sorry if this is in the wrong area.

Maybe you should start with whether you are male or female. The answers are quite different. Then, when you decide which gender you are, you may find an appropriate forum.

You are probably best to put any new topics under "New to Sex", I doubt you have a sexual disorder. I'm assuming that any other time you function fine such as while; masturbating, oral, or a hand job.

Alcohol, medications, & drugs will cause you to go limp and not be able to climax. Not a good mix. If you had a condom on it causes decreased sensation and can be culprit, nerves or anxiety can do the same. Additionally, the vaginal cavity it not the same grip as you are accustomed to during masturbating. The speed, rhythm, and sensation during intercourse is also different which can be a cause.

Here is a link to a place to begin reading to help you:
