Spotting after a year?

I've been on the generic Allesse-28 for a little over a year now. Today i just noticed that i had some very light spotting, but i am in my last week of active pills. This has happened once before a few months ago.

I have recently come home from college for the summer, and have been eating drastically differently than when i was at school. could this be a factor?

I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and if it is something to be worried about (ie: pregnancy)

As a note: I am extremely good at taking the pills on time, and have not missed one this cycle or taken any late.

If you have taken your pills as directed, not mixed medications with them which are known to decrease the effectiveness of the pill, I would not worry about it. If it continues over the next month call your doc and run it past the nurse. There are times when you can have some mild spotting even when on the same pill & dose for a year. If you have missed any or changed the time you take them use a second birth control method.
