Question for Brandye about IUD

I am 20 yrs old and have never been pregnant. Me and my boyfriend do not want a child for awhile at least. I have tried many birthcontrol options and it seems that I suck at picking up prescriptions... they just don't fit in with my lifestyle. I'm allergic to latex and my bf is too big for magnums. I was looking at info about IUDs and saw some really scary side-effects such as:
Fatal Infections
Uterine Perforation
Death
and Scar Tissue

I want to be able to have children later on and those side effects (although rare) scare me a lot. I know IUDs are reccommended for women that have already had a child because the uterus will have been stretched a bit.

I can't seem to make a decision and want to know how high the risks are for me. If you could give me any more information it would be much appreciated.
