The rule is: "Unto mine own self be true".
In other words, look out for #1. Here is a copy of a post from a few days ago: Quote: Originally Posted by Brandye View Post Use contraception every time. What about your responsibility to yourself? You should be using a very high reliability form of contraception in addition. At the very least, a spermacide as Brandye so often states. Never rely upon one method and the reliability of your partner. Here is a partial quote from a reply in another thread from a couple of days ago: Quote: Originally Posted by dancingdoc2 View Post As a girl, you absolutely must take responsibility for your own protection. The reason this is true hinges on irresponsibility and a cavalier attitude. It is important to know and understand that regardless of age, you are playing a version of Russian Roulette--only instead of having a six-shooter with five empty chambers, you have what essentially amounts to a fully loaded cannon that has live ammo ready to fire each and every time! _______________ Please follow sera300's advise. It is not unheard of for a girl to forget to take her pill and if this happens, all bets are off.

The Tango smolders and burns. It ignites the heart, the soul, and yes, the libido. Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to Dance in the Rain! Dance as if nobody is watching. |

Most women in stable relationships and on the pill do not use other means. If either of you is having contact outside the relationship, the condom helps prevent disease.
Using a condom with hormonal birth control helps prevent disease and reduces the chance of pregnancy to almost nil.

If your are totally sure about being clean...then you could also use BCP w/ some sort of spermicidal gel, foam, insert.
My b/f and I just use the BCP. Im older so pregnancy wouldn't be the end of the world... but I don't want it either!! Also, I take my pills religiously. You have to know whether your g/f will do the same... but it should be something that both parties take responsibility for.
