Question Std?

Hi,

I recently had sex a couple days ago and today morning after a morning shower, I noticed that there were some drops of blood on the bathroom floor. At first, I didn't know where it came from... then I saw that there were some drops of blood from my penis. I wiped it with a tissue and that was it. I didn't feel anything burning or itching at all. Then when I began to urinate, it hurt a little bit like a burning sensation.

Does anyone know what this is? Did I get infected with something?

You need to go and see a doctor. It could be from a whole host of problems, non-specified urethritis, trauma, prostate, std, or urinary infections. It's difficult to pinpoint. GENERALLY, in men if they are going to have symptoms of STD's they will also have penile discharge--yellow or green purulent discharge. But you need to get to a doc.

Piggybacking on Sera's post: Whether STD or non-specific urethritis, you MUST see a doctor. Neither gets better on its own (althogu symptoms may come and go) and the treatment will require a prescription. Nealy everyon I know - male and female; patient and friend - has had urethritis at one time or another.

It only happened that one day and never happened again. I don't feel different and I don't see any bumps or marks anywhere. Is it still necessary to go see a doctor?

Infections in the urinary tract flare up and then seem to go away. Until treated, it will be there and show up another time.

The most extreme I have encountered was a patient who came in saying she got a very heavy period during sex but next morning the tampon was dry. Her husband had ejaculated pure blood. So, I checked her husband and he had the highest bacterial count I have ever seen in his urine.

Go get a check.
