Yes, you can get herpes from kissing. From kissing you could get oral herpes, HSV 1. It doesn't matter if the person is showing any symptoms or not, you can get it. Believe me, I got it from someone who had no symptoms!!! And, you can get genital herpes if someone with Herpes Simplex One performs oral sex on you (symptoms or not). 70 percent of people who get herpes, got it from someone who didn't know they had it. So, be careful!!!

Read any informational herpes website and they say that genital HSV 1 is rampant due to oral sex. If one has oral HSV 1, it can be spread to the other's genitals during oral sex. There is such a thing called HSV 1 which occurs on the genitals. There is another type of HSV, called HSV 2, which is spread by genital to genital contact. You're taking your chances of getting genital herpes if you allow someone to perform oral on you that has oral herpes.

I was only adding to my previous thread...I honestly wish more people would read the info posted here about STD's or read on the CDC website before engaging in any sex acts so they have a full understanding of risks, modes of transmission, and prevention. This would prevent many unfortunate occurrances...
