is this normal?

hey all,
I've been on birth control for a little over a year now. Today i think i got my period, but i still have one more active pill left, and i start my placebo ones 2mrw? This has never happend before so i was worried. I had sex with my boyfriend last weekend, and he did not have a condom on. I am very diligent in taking my pills and always take them at the same time. tHe only reason for this i can see is that i have been exersizing more often... Has this happend to anyone before? should i be worried:?

It's not abnormal; your cycle can begin just prior to ending the active pills. I have been on the pill for awhile now and at times it will begin 4-5 days prior to ending the active pills. The BCP can regulate your cycle but in essence it's intended to prevent ovulation, so if you are taking them as directed don't worry about it. If for some reason you suspect you could be pregnant (pill failure or taking another med while on the pills which decrease the efficacy) just use an OTC preg. test. But if your sole concern is a day early, don't sweat it.

Even with the pill, none of us is completely regular. Keep track of these occurrences and tell your doctor at your next checkup. May be some adjustment required. Not abnormal and the exercise could do it. Do not stop either the exercise or the pill - and keep up the diligence. Most pill "failures" are from women not being so diligent.
