how common is it to miss your first period after completing your first cycle on birth control? my g/f was supposed to get her period in the past days, shes taken the placebos already but still no period. could she be pregnant?

Well did you have unprotected sex during the month?
Most DR recommend a back up method during that very first pack of pills when you start the pill.
It does take 1-2 packs to get your cycle regulated.
I started them, and I think I had a light period for almost 2 weeks, then got my normal period, then I was back on track.
Just take a test to be sure, no one here can say.

Well, you're not supposed to get your period immediately after taking placebos. It takes 2-3 days usually to go on your period after you stop taking birth control.

However, the above poster has a good point that many doctors recommend waiting a cycle or two before having unprotected sex just to be sure.
