starting the pill
my doctor told me that after starting the pill my period will become lighter and it would shorten the days of my period, but my first period on the pill was indeed lighter but it laster 3 days longer then it normaly does which is a pain because it already lasted 5-6 days already (the last 2 days are really light but it's still a pain to be on your period for 9 days). i was wondering if i should consult my doctor about it or if it was normal for the first month of starting the pill. also i realized that i get headaches easier, i don't get them everyday but it is more frequent then it was before i started the pill, and they aren't horrible headaches they're like someone is poking my brain kind of headache. i was just wondering if it is normal reaction for the first time using it.

If the doctor has ordered the proper tests, there will be a check for the usual STDs. If not, only the checks for cervical cancer will be performed. There are tests for some STDs that do not involve a pap smear. This should be discussed with your doctor before the test so you know what you are getting. After the fact, you can call and ask the nurse what was tested for.
