(and I apologize if this is a pathetic question...) is there any risk to producing or contracting an STD (or STI for that matter)? Apparantly I haven't been educated well enough, and this is an honest question.

Of course it's possible!
You can control who you have sex with, but you can't control your partner. This alone and not wanting to have babies is a good reason to use condoms. But if both partners only have sex with eachother... I honestly can't give you a clear answer to that. maybe there is a STD that can be transmitted in other ways then sex? |

I'm sorry, I should have specified that we have come into contact with only each other, and each other only (as in this is the first time both of us have actually touched any vulnerable body spots or been touched for that matter) AND we are absolutely certain neither of us possess an illness/disease/infection. We are healthy as far as purity goes.
Besides that, thank you everyone for your replies. I understand completely now - that helped clear up my confusion once and for all. -jem |
