bringing up birth control to parents

I'm under the age of 18.
i want to get the pill form of birth control
What's the best way to bring it up to my parents.
without it seeming awkward.
my mom and i are close for the most part anyway,
i just think she'll freak out.
and my aunts
and cousins always talk to me about taking me to get birth control
but i would feel more comfortable
if my mother new about it
because if she were to find the pills somewhere
i'm afraid she'd be even more upset.

i just don't know how to bring it up to my parents.
any ideas?

Straightforward way: Mum, I want to go on the pill.

Little fabrication: Mum, my periods have been getting very difficult and irregular; I understand that some doctors could help me with hormonal treatment.

Shock: Mum, I am screwing Bobby. She will have you on the pill that day!

Best idea: go to a school clinic or women's health clinic and ask. Unless she goes through your purse or personal items, they are yours.

hm I like the shock idea, any mother should understand that it is going to happen sooner or later and better it be dealt with than run the risk at least she does not have to worry too much after that

i'm 16 years old.. and i think my parents should expect this conversation coming sooner or later, i've been dating my boyfriend for almost a year.

well then take action one way or anotherif you think you will be having sex soon, better get it sorted before you start anything and risk pregnancy.

something new added:
my boyfriends mother said that if i don't get on birth control in one month she's going to call my mother and tell my mother that my boyfriend and i are having sex and that we've stayed the night together numerous times. i'd rather she'd hear it from me than my boyfriends mom, right?
