about the morning after pill

I'm still kinda confused about spotting as one of the side effect from taking "morning after pill". how exactly is spotting different from bleeding (periods)? cuz i have had bleeding/period around 3-4 days after taking the pill, and i'm not sure if its the side effect (spotting) or is it an indication that the pill has worked and i got my period already. however,i'm gonna go to the doctor's tomorrow n make sure. Also i've seen from sites that you will get some irregular bleeding after taking the pill and needs time to adjust to regular period cycles, so after this irregular bleeding, the "
normal" period will come around the exact time. plz help!! thanks

It sounds like you have used the morning after technique a few times! Not a good idea. You are better off taking the precautions before sex rather than after. You are messing with your endocrine system and the balance of all the hormones and glandular secretions in the is delicate.

Spotting is simply a spot or two when you pull them down to use the toilet. Usually needs no real sanitary protection. It sounds as though you are seeing the effects of the pill working, whether or not you were actually pregnant, and this is quite normal.

While you see the doc, lay it all out, including how ofeten you have used emergency contraception, and get a prescription for regular pills. If you have used e.c. lately, the doctor may want you to complete a cycle before prescribing.
