The Condom Broke
Needless to say, I am a little put off... Me and my boyfriend had sex earlier tonight, and afterwards, he looked down and said "The condom broke." I rushed to the bathroom and peed, etc... I do not take birth control, and I don't have a PlanB pill or anything. I am planning on going to my doctor tomorrow, but before I do that, can anyone tell me:
Are there any morning after pills that are not prescription? Because that would be great... I just don't know what to think and I am king of freaking out. (That seems to fit it quite well...) If anyone is currently on, I'd love advice.Help? Brandye? Last edited by AJinlove; 07-02-2006 at 12:28 AM.. |

Hey
I had a problem like this once and you're able to buy them over the counter in pharmacies and drugstores as far as i know, i live in england, but i imagine it's the same in the states. It costs quite a bit though, and they will ask you some questions to basically make sure that you definately need it. hope everything goes well ![]() |

Okay, thanks. I am getting birth control tomorrow, so using that should help? Mega doses? That sounds like something that could go wrong... I am planning on getting the PlanB pill anyway, though.
Also, I was wondering, would starting the pill affect my period? (It is supposed to start the 5th-7th). Because if I don't get it and I don't know why, pill or other, I am going to freak out... |

Dont take the BC pill AND the PlanB morning after pill.
Its just saying that the morning after pill is essentially a mega doses of hormones or that you can take lots of BC pills to get that same effect. But dont go dosing yourself. or dosing w/ both. Usually when you start BC pills you start a pack either the first day of your period ( if you are a first day starter) or I am a sunday starter (which i think most are)...which means you start your new pack of pills the sunday after you start your period. So say you start your period this thurs, then you would start your new pack of pills this Sunday. But i have heard the MA pill can really mess up your period for a cycle or so, you might want to hold off on starting your new pack of BC pills next cycle. Discuss all this w/ whomever you are getting the BCpill/ plan B from.... unlike England, in the states i believe we can't get OTC.

I can't get anything from people around here. They are scheduling me for Wednesday and the 19th, etc. I tried calling the hospital and I got transfered 6 times. Walk in clinics don't prescribe birth control. How in the world do I get the PlanB pill now so I don't get pregnant? Right now I am feeling royally screwed.

Look up the TriNessa and see whether it is recommended for emergency contraception use. That will tell you how many but it is getting a little late for the regular birth control pills to work.
Sort this out. Your first priority is to take care of possibile pregnancy. Then address the future of preventing pregnancy. Do not get the two confused.

I got the PlanB pack. (Monday.) It was a little more than 30 hours, so I am concerned, but I will know within the next few days. My period should hit soon, and I feel like crap, but that could mean either, I suppose...
